A Paw-fect Holiday Season

Club OpenRoad’s popular Pet Photos with Santa campaign raised more than $8,900 for four different animal rescues in B.C.

Our team kicked-off the season of giving this year with the return of Club OpenRoad’s popular Pet Photos with Santa event. From cats and dogs to turtles and guinea pigs, it was an adorable couple weeks at four of our B.C. dealerships, where a record $8,900 was raised to support four different animal shelters.

We thank OpenRoad Subaru Boundary, MINI Langley, OpenRoad Acura Richmond, and OpenRoad Mazda Port Moody for all participating in such a fun campaign for a good cause! Proceeds were raised for the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program, Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS), Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS), and BC SPCA Tri-Cities.

Joanna Ho, Club OpenRoad’s Loyalty & Retention Manager said, “Pets are family for many people and, often, they aren’t permitted to go inside malls to see Santa. We’ve created a great environment at our dealerships for the holiday pet photo experience – it’s not too loud or crowded, so less distraction. We are so thrilled to have raised a record $8,900 this year. The community really showed up to support the animal shelter non-profits and get into the holiday spirit.”

During the events, Santa kept things jolly for the animals as they each posed for the special photos, all taken by local professional pet photographer, Katherine Gonzalez of Vancouver Pet Photography. Families received both a digital and printed copy of the photo with a donation of $20. And of course, it’s not a festive party without some pet treats, cookies, and entertainment.

Since we started Pet Photos with Santa in 2019, the initiative has raised $23,900 for animal non-profits in B.C. This year, each participating dealership donated $500 to their associated local animal rescue. The charities were also on-site for the events to directly collect donations.

Stay tuned for more fun events coming from Club OpenRoad soon!
