Revisiting Genesis New York Concept vehicle
We’re about a month out from the New York Auto Show taking place in the Big Apple, so now is a perfect time to revisit the aptly named Genesis New York Concept the fresh upscale Korean brand unveiled at last year’s event.
This hybrid 3 Series challenger shows the sportiest appearance of a Genesis product seen yet exhibiting smooth body panels mixed with sharp edges, a low and wide stance and humongous alloy wheels.

With its expressive volumes and refined design, the New York Concept truly embodies the ‘Athletic Elegance,’ that characterizes Genesis products and will continue to do so for future models that come from our luxury brand,” said global brand chief Manfred Fitzgerald.
Design inspiration comes from a blend of modern luxury lifestyles and products as well as forms from nature, according to the brand. There are lots of small unique details setting the vehicle apart, like pixelated light guides within the headlamp housings, individually carved out air vents on the front fenders, and copper accenting on the aero kit similar to the recently released Hyundai Ioniq. The entire car is sprayed in a premium Ceramic Blue colour.
The interior resembles the cockpit of a fighter jet: there’s a U-shaped steering wheel, four individual seats and a floating 21-inch curved ultra-high-definition 4K display blending into an analogue instrument cluster. The screen accepts multi-finger swiping, handwriting recognition and gesture control. Luxurious appointments include anthracite and tan leather coverings on virtually all cabin surfaces, polished aluminum switchgear and bits of copper-toned stainless steel mesh.
A turbocharged 2.0-liter GDi powertrain delivers a total system output of approximately 242 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The concept utilizes an eight-speed automatic transmission.
