Area 27 Track Experience Summer 2020
This summer, Club OpenRoad took our members to Area 27 in Oliver, BC for a two-day driving event filled with high performance driving lessons, gourmet dining experiences, and more. Drivers of all experience levels were taught by Area 27’s world-class race car drivers how to navigate the track at their vehicle’s top performance.
This year’s Area 27 Track Experience was carefully planned and re-designed to adhere to physical distancing regulations and other health and safety guidelines.
The exhilarating two-day experience started with a rally from Porsche Centre Langley to Osoyoos, BC. Our members had a chance to mingle and connect with fellow driving enthusiasts during the fun, relaxing drive. All participants arrived in time for a welcome dinner at the vineyard patio of Spirit Ridge Resort, which included a four-course gourmet dining experience with wine pairing.
The following day, all members received professional instruction over breakfast before driving their vehicles on the world-renowned track. Morning track activities included registration and grouping, professional instructions during breakfast, and autocross on a defined course to add some friendly competition amongst drivers.
The team of professional instructors monitored the track for safety and provided instructions turn by turn for everyone who wished to push their high-performance vehicles to the limit. A catered buffet lunch was provided for the participants at the track, followed by a group photo opportunity on track. All members received a high-resolution photo of their vehicle on the track as memorabilia of the unique experience.
