The former two received recognition for being the best passenger vehicle and luxury brands, as well as for several individual models.

It wasn’t just a Toyota Motor Corporation show, though, as other companies including members of the Volkswagen Group and Mazda also garnered prizes in multiple categories. The awards cover virtually all the vehicle classes from micro cars to mid-size hybrid sedans to premium large SUVs.

Vincentric Best Value in Canada Award

Several auto manufacturers had award winning vehicles across many vehicle segments,” said Vincentric president David Wurster. “Manufacturers are increasingly monitoring and managing total cost of ownership to better compete with their rivals while offering significant choices and value for consumers.”

In order to determine best value, Vincentric measured cost-of-ownership by looking at the following eight factors: depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost and repairs. Winning entries were lower to own and operate than expected, taking into account their respective market segments and MSRP. Models were evaluated in all 10 Canadian provinces and the Northwest Territories.
