Toyota Richmond Donation to Richmond Food Bank Society
Giving back to the community is even more important during the difficult times we are facing. OpenRoad Toyota Richmond has donated $5,000 to the Richmond Food Bank Society, as part of a charity initiative from Toyota Canada and Toyota of BC and Yukon Territories.
Over 1,300 people currently depend on the Richmond Food Bank Society to provide reliable, nutritious grocery assistance as a result of the challenges brought about by the global pandemic. This donation will go towards assisting the staff and volunteers of the Society who have been working extremely hard to adapt operations in order to align with public health directives such as physical distancing and maintaining a clean, safe facility.
“The over 1,300 people that are accessing our services continue to depend on us. Many are new to the food bank, have been recently laid off, self-isolating and trying to navigate the limited resources during these challenging times. OpenRoad Toyota Richmond’s donation reaffirms our commitment to our work and our mission,” says Hajira Hussain, Executive Director of the Richmond Food Bank Society.
Originally opened in 1979, OpenRoad Toyota Richmond recognizes the importance of helping out the community that it has been a part of for over 40 years.
“On behalf of the OpenRoad Toyota Richmond family, we wanted to acknowledge the Richmond Food Bank Society for all the great work they are doing. It’s great to see our community coming together during these difficult times,” said Harj Gill, Vice President of Regional Operations at OpenRoad Auto Group.
