OpenRoad Group Launches Road To 25: Community Event Series

Richmond, BC, January 8, 2025 – OpenRoad Group (OpenRoad), one of Canada’s fastest-growing automotive dealership groups, is marking its 25th anniversary with a series of exciting initiatives, including the launch of its Road to 25: Community Event Series. Small businesses and community organizations are invited to submit ideas online to co-host one of 25 special events at 25 OpenRoad showrooms across BC and Ontario, from May to October.

The selected small businesses and/or community organizations, designated as Road to 25 Collaborators, will receive grants (up to $10,000 each) to execute and organize their experiential event. Applications are now open until February 15, 2025.

“One of our goals in celebrating our 25th anniversary is to reflect on the incredible support we’ve received from the communities and business partners who have been part of the OpenRoad journey since 2000,” explains Christian Chia, CEO of OpenRoad Group. “With the Road to 25: Community Event Series, we hope to give back by opening our showrooms to inspire creativity, strengthen connections, provide educational opportunities, and enrich lives through the power of arts and culture.”

To qualify as one of twenty-five Road to 25 Collaborators, an organization must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Operates within the Greater Vancouver region and/or Greater Toronto regions
  • Its brand aligns with at least one of OpenRoad’s dealership brands
  • Proposed event must be held at an OpenRoad dealership location in BC or Ontario
  • Proposed event date must fall between May 1, 2025 and October 31, 2025
  • Purpose of event must focus on at least one of the following categories: introduce unique limited-release products, foster community engagement, spark creativity, create educational opportunities, and enrich attendees’ lives through arts and culture
  • Have the resources to assume full responsibility for planning, managing, and executing the proposed event
  • Agree to co-promote the event in partnership with the hosting OpenRoad dealership location

Three event grant amounts will be pre-determined based on the nature and scope of the proposed event: $2,500 for a Community Collaborator, $5,000 for a Blue Collaborator, and $10,000 for a Silver Collaborator.

Submissions will be reviewed and considered by a Selection Committee, which includes representatives from OpenRoad Group. Successful applicants will be contacted between March 16 to 31, 2025 and the complete events line-up announced in April.

“We’re excited to see the creativity and passion that selected small businesses and community groups will bring to the Road to 25,” adds Chia. “We hope these events will spark conversations and create lasting memories for those who participate and attend.”
