OpenRoad Auto Group is pleased to announce three of its Honda dealerships, Honda Burnaby, Honda Brampton, and Surrey Honda have once again been awarded the Honda Driving Excellence (HDE) recognition this year. The HDE initiative program celebrates Canadian dealerships that demonstrate exceptional customer service and possess profound knowledge of the Honda brand. Each dealership is graded in several key areas in sales, service, finance, and of course, customer satisfaction feedback in order to be nominated or recognized.
To celebrate, OpenRoad hosted three special award ceremonies and staff BBQs this summer.

This is Honda Burnaby’s third HDE in a row. 12 Pacific Zone dealers qualified for HDE; however, Honda Burnaby earned top marks at 325 or 98.5% of available points, giving them the additional distinction of “High Achievers Club” for the Pacific Zone. This score was top in the country for the program.
At a special Honda Brampton staff BBQ, Eduard Tstaturyan, Honda Canada District Operations Manager presented Honda Brampton with the HDE award. This is Honda Brampton’s fourth HDE in five years, providing customers with unparalleled customer service and knowledge.

Surrey Honda achieved the #1 top sales volume in BC this year. In addition to receiving its second HDE in three years, the team came together to celebrate Surrey Honda’s 25th anniversary as a dealership and its first anniversary since joining the OpenRoad Auto Group family. In attendance included: Christian Chia, OpenRoad CEO; Sharon Rupal, Vice President of Regional Operations & Area General Manager, OpenRoad; Tahir Ayub, Executive Vice President & CFO, OpenRoad; Craig Simpson, General Manager – Western Canada, Honda Canada; and Neel Ahuja, Zone Operations Manager – Western Region, Honda Canada.
“Over the years Surrey Honda has made a place for itself in the community whether it be through various charitable initiatives or by being a familiar face for customers to come home to for their Honda needs,” says Sharon Rupal, Vice President of Regional Operations & Area General Manager, OpenRoad Auto Group. “I am so proud of the team and our accomplishments over the last year. It’s been an eventful year, especially with all the challenges and unexpected events. One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is our customer service and how we have consistently hit our CXI targets.”
Created in 2018, HDE is a Customer Experience based program that includes all areas of the dealership. Dealerships must achieve top marks in CXI, training, facility audits, process documentation, and mystery shops. In addition, they must work throughout the year to monitor areas of opportunity within the scope of customer experience and develop, monitor, and adjust action plans to address these opportunities.
