A Night of Music at the Vancouver Symphony Gala

OpenRoad Auto Group is excited to continue our community outreach endeavours this year by supporting the return of the long-standing Vancouver Symphony Gala last week, as Valet Sponsors, with a $15,000 donation. The Parisian-themed evening raised more than $700,000 for the VSO and VSO School of Music initiatives.
During the event, several sought-after vehicles from OpenRoad Auto Group retail centres were on-display in the beautifully and artistically decorated ballroom at the Vancouver Convention Centre. These included the all-new, fully electric Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 and the redesigned Lexus RX 500h hybrid showcased at the grand entrance, as well as the sleek Audi RS e-tron GT electric supercar displayed inside the ballroom next to the stage.
Live music by students of the VSO School of Music greeted people who arrived during the champagne reception. For the main program, guests were treated to a number of performances by the VSO, including a piece with special guest star and renowned international award-winning Canadian soprano Measha Brueggergosman.
“The Vancouver Symphony Gala celebrates the important, thriving arts and music scene in Vancouver and beyond, and we at OpenRoad Auto Group definitely wanted to take part in the festivities this year,” says Harj Gill, Regional VP of Operations at OpenRoad Auto Group Boundary. “This symphony supports so many amazing campaigns and initiatives, and we are honoured to know our donation will play a part in helping to continue to fund many of the important programs.”
In the past 30 years, the Vancouver Symphony Gala has raised close to $16 million, with funds supporting VSO’s performances, music education by the VSO School of Music, and community engagement initiatives, including: 100 plus concerts presented in 15 venues throughout Metro Vancouver; free outdoor concerts in Vancouver and Burnaby; elementary school concerts reaching more than 23,000; wellness programs that promote health and healing through music, and prenatal to early childhood development programs for underserved families.
